Pimms

No British brands round-up is complete without including Pimms!

A staple at many well-known events such as Wimbledon, the Chelsea Flower Show and The Henley Royal Regatta, Pimms was founded back in 1823 by James Pimm. James Pimm opened an oyster bar in the City of London and sold his secret recipe Pimms (then marketed as a health tonic!) as an aid to digestion and, well, the rest is history.

Pimms is a gin-based liqueur and is commonly served with lemonade, in a jug and garnished with plenty of fruits and herbs. But, how do you make the perfect jug of Pimms?

Simply, fill a jug with one part Pimms to three parts lemonade, fill with plenty of ice and then add mint sprigs, sliced cucumber, sliced oranges and strawberries to ensure you’ve got a perfectly pleasing punch that tastes just like summer!

Plus, the new Pimms Sundowner is a new flavour launched last summer, which has a fruity raspberry flavour and tart redcurrant notes delivering a bitter, sweet tasting aperitif best served with prosecco, soda or lemonade.

For a limited time, you can get Pimms Sundowner FREE OF CHARGE when purchasing a Guinness Stout 4.1% ABV 30 litre keg, or Guinness Red Band Stout 4.1% ABV 50 litre keg.

Wainwright

Named after Alfred Wainwright MBE, famed British fellwaker, author and illustrator, who, over the course of his life walked over 100,000 miles across Britain’s countryside. Alfred Wainwright was born in Blackburn, Lancashire but later moved to Kendal, Cumbria where he devoted his life to mapping the area, writing seven pictorial guidebooks.

His books have provided thousands of fell walkers with all the information they need to reach the summits of 214 peaks across the Lake District, now commonly referred to as ‘Wainwrights’.

Wainwright is a highly distinguished name in the beer world; with Wainwright Golden Beer now celebrated as the UK’s No.1 Golden Cask Ale.

Wainwright’s Golden Beer was originally brewed as a seasonal beer, but was so unusually refreshing that it became an instant hit with drinkers up and down the UK.

With an ABV of 4.1%, Wainwright Golden Beer is made with magnum, tradition and Hersbrucker hops and then late hopped with Styrian Goldings and uses 100% English malt.

CleanCo

CleanCo is a company based on the ethos of there being a new way to drink; a clean drinking revolution. CleanCo creates full flavour, non-alcohol substitutes to full-strength spirits. All of their spirit alternatives are made using new school techniques.

With a range of carefully created spirits using traditional distillation processes, CleanCo includes a range of non-alcoholic spirits such as vodka, rum and gin.

Their founder is Spencer Matthews, of Made in Chelsea fame, and he’s said of the company: “Why Clean? I felt that describing what we offer as “Clean” was a more positive approach than the often negative connotation surrounding no & low alcohol.

It makes for an easier bar call and more sense for people like me who drink less, or not at all as part of a cleaner lifestyle.”
