All three flavour variations of the Agnes Arber premium gins picked up accolades at this years’ Gin Masters Awards; the largest ever blind-tasting competition held by The Global Spirits Masters.
With over 480 entries, the blind tasting was held in-person and included specialist judges from both the on and off-trade consuming a whole host of gins over a two-day blind-tasting extravaganza.
Agnes Arber Premium picked up Gold in the London Dry category whilst Agnes Arber Rhubarb and Pineapple gins were both awarded Silver in the Flavoured Gin category.
The three-strong range of Agnes Arber gins were inspired by the work of Agnes Arber; a famed botanical historian known for her dedication to discovering all the intricacies and wonders of the natural world.
Following the success of Arber Premium, Arber Rhubarb was then launched in 2018 to provide a strong point of difference in the gin market closely followed by Arber Pineapple in 2019 in a bid to launch a quirky and unique expression across the flavoured gin category.
Made from nine carefully chosen botanicals, all three gins ensure a true gin experience at 41.6% ABV and the bottles are all designed with Agnes Arber’s very own artwork adorning the bold bottle design.
Though the pandemic meant that gin sales in the on-trade ground to a halt, gin sales across the off-trade reached over £2 billion with around 80 billion bottles sold in supermarkets, shops and online sales compared to £1 billion in the previous 12 months, figures from the Wine and Spirit Trade Association have shown.
Flavoured gins, too, now account for 40% of all gins sales over the last year with sales increasing 37% year-on-year, proving that the gin renaissance is very much still in full swing and shows little sign of slowing.
