Last month, LWC proudly hosted its third annual Women’s Networking Event at Chotto Matte, welcoming more than 150 colleagues, customers and suppliers from across the drinks industry.
Now firmly established in our events calendar, the LWC Women’s Network continues to grow year on year – Its success reflecting a clear demand for meaningful industry networking opportunities for women, as well as the importance of creating safe spaces where conversations around inclusion, career progression and opportunity can thrive.
A platform for industry voices
At the heart of the event was another powerful panel discussion, bringing together a diverse mix of voices from across the drinks and hospitality industries.
We were delighted to welcome:
- Emma Heal, Managing Director, Lucky Saint
- Ashley Wickham-Byrne, Director of People & Culture, The Whisky Exchange
- Lucy Tallant, Co-owner, Crossbar Brighton
- Hannah Hirst, Head of Legal, Odeon UK & Ireland
- Jon Broadhurst, Regional Manager, LWC Midlands
Expertly chaired by Sarah Gray, the discussion explored how the drinks industry can continue to break down barriers, champion inclusion, and build a more diverse and representative future.
Mentorship and future talent
Another standout moment came from Jane Kenyon MBE, founder of Girls Out Loud, the charity this year’s event supported and raised funds for. Her powerful and personal talk highlighted the importance of mentorship in shaping future talent.
From building confidence to raising aspirations, the message was clear: supporting the next generation of women is essential to the long-term success and sustainability of our industry.
Building skills for career development
Alongside inspiring conversations, the event focused on practical professional development.
A dedicated personal brand and networking workshop, led by Sally Orrock from Aspire Training, provided attendees with actionable tools to:
- Build confidence
- Strengthen communication skills
- Develop a clear personal brand
- Take ownership of their career progression
Strengthening connections across the drinks industry
More than anything, the LWC Women’s Networking Event is about bringing people together.
From informal conversations to new business relationships, the day created space for connection across roles, companies and backgrounds.
As a leading independent drinks wholesaler, LWC is passionately committed to creating opportunities that support collaboration, inclusion and long-term growth across the industry.
Looking ahead
As the event continues to grow, so does its impact. It’s a reminder of what can be achieved when we come together with a shared purpose – supporting each other, championing diversity, and building a stronger future for the drinks industry.
Thank you to all those that took time of of their busy schedules to join us and support us!
