Brinkhoff’s No.1, the beer born from a brewing mishap in 1887, is making waves again – this time with two new arrivals that speak directly to the biggest trends in the UK beer market: Brinkhoff’s No.1 Radler and Brinkhoff’s No.1 0.0%.

Exclusively available via LWC, these variants build on the brand’s rich heritage while aligning perfectly with the latest CGA data showing that world lager now leads the UK on‑trade at a 30% volume share, overtaking standard lager at 28.6%*. Meanwhile, no and low alcohol beers remain in high demand as consumers embrace moderation without compromising on flavour.

A Beer That’s Always Been Different

Born by accident in Dortmund, Germany’s Ruhr region, Brinkhoff’s No.1 has always been bold, authentic, and rich in flavour. That character is now brought to life through three distinct formats:

Brinkhoff’s No.1 Pilsner – 5.0% ABV, available in 50 L kegs
Brinkhoff’s No.1 Radler – 2.0% ABV, available in 330 ml bottles
Brinkhoff’s No.1 0.0% – 0.0% ABV, available in 330 ml bottles
Whether full-strength, lighter, or alcohol-free, each variant brings the same commitment to flavour, local brewing and premium quality.

Market Context and Consumer Relevance

The arrival of Brinkhoff’s No.1 Radler and 0.0% comes at a pivotal moment for the UK beer market. CGA’s latest on-trade data reveals that world lager has become the largest beer subcategory, now accounting for 30% of volume share, overtaking standard lager at 28.6%. At the same time, demand for no and low alcohol options continues to grow, reflecting a shift toward more mindful drinking habits.

These new variants respond directly to evolving consumer preferences, offering operators a premium, heritage-led brand that spans multiple drinking occasions – from full-strength lager to lighter refreshment and alcohol-free alternatives.

Lee Williams, LWC’s Beer & Cider Category Manager commented:

We’re delighted to expand the Brinkhoff’s No.1 range in the UK with our new Radler and 0.0% variants. These launches perfectly capture the direction of the market, world lagers leading the charge, and no/low alcohol continuing its rapid rise.

Radler brings a fresh, zesty twist, while No.1 0.0% delivers the full-flavour quality consumers expect – without the alcohol. Both uphold the heritage and brewing character that make Brinkhoff’s distinct. We’re proud to support our on‑trade partners with these products and the compelling story behind them.
