Wine Director Shaun Healy has been in the wine trade for over 30 years. With an early passion for wine, Shaun spent many years working for Cash and Carry specialists Nurdin & Peacock. In 1987 Shaun joined Phillips Newman and developed a role supplying a range of wines, beers and spirits to a number of “On–Trade” accounts throughout the UK. His role over that period also took in the position of sourcing wines from all over the world, working closely with wine makers and brand owners. Holder of the WSET Diploma - Shaun has been purchasing wines for LWC Limited during the last 8 years and in this time he has been able to visit a number of important wine regions, looking to introduce new wines that are typical of their area and represent quality and great value, so he can add them to our best ever range! Shaun states “Meeting the vineyard owners, wine makers and négociants we are now able to present you with an excellent choice and are assured that the quality from the range of wines introduced to your business will enhance your trade as we continue to see the wine category enjoy substantial growth in the UK’s On–Trade”.
The head of wine development for the South West of England, James joined LWC in 2008. He started his career at the University of London by combining studying with running the university bar. Having decided to focus on the drinks industry he spent nearly 10 years in various area managership roles for regional pub and bar operators in the South West. When an opportunity arose to join long established regional wine merchants Vinnicombes, as sales manager, James jumped at it. Seven years with this fast expanding company gave James an intensive, on-the-job training in the wine trade. James is very much looking forward to using his wide ranging and detailed knowledge to support the LWC customer base.
The head of wine development for the North of England, Marc joined LWC over 6 years ago. Marc has been in the wine industry for over 15 years now, & is extremely “pro-active” in advising restaurants, hotels, wine bars & gastro pubs on our wine offerings with his objective of maximising wine sales and general wine awareness in your establishment. Marc works closely with LWC accounts with wine list production & with particular emphasis on staff training.
With over 600 different wines to choose from, Marc looks forward to visiting you soon to discuss, advise & build working relationships based round our new 2012/2013 wine offering.
We can offer help and advice with all aspects of wine presentation. Our experienced "Wine Development Managers" will be on hand to give training in how to open bottles, how to store and serve wines correctly, how to match wines with food and become familiar with the wines on your list.
